Day 112 : 13th August 2011 Cycling

Trying to gain an extra hour of sleep, I joined the group when they rode past Yishun. =)

The group throttled past at a very fast pace and I was lucky to hang on.
Finally got the chance to rode through the Pulau Punggol Islands.

Exiting the Islands at Marina Country Club, I was amazed. Ahh.... never knew there is a much shorter and nicer road home!

Kept pace with the group till the flyover to Old Tampines Road.
Slopes, even mere slopes remain my nemesis.

Cycling past Changi Village, caught sight of Kristal turning into CV.
Gosh, she is really addicted to Desaru!

Rode with Gabriel along Changi Coastal Road.
I got very wary when I near the lone traffic light, thus I slow down and requested Gabriel not
to wait for me.

At the re-group point, overheard the statement, "35 is the new "Slow"!"
Had a sugar cane drink, before we proceed on our way.

Recovering from flu, I find the ride tough going.
It gets tougher when you are riding alone.

The group were waiting at the next checkpoint, West Coast McDonalds.
From here onwards, it is 8km to the highlight of the day.

Rode into St Luke 's Hospital to the warm welcome of the St Luke's staff.
While we dig into the nice brekkie prepared by the staff, Adrian gave us an introduction to the St Luke's Hospital operations and how the charity drive will assist the hospital to defray
their annual deficit.
Adrian gave us a tour of the facilities.
It is a really good thing to know what you are raising the funds for.

Met Isabel and is glad to have the charity drive issue ironed out. Yeah!

After the visit, it is a long and slow ride home. =)
