Day 159 : 27th June 2011 Running

The day I busted a young chap's ego...
Sorry, mate...

===========

It was an idea mooted ever since I moved to my new work place.
Just that I never put it into action.

Decided that I have waited long enough.
Changed into my running gear and off I went...
(Gosh... I hate Garmin firmware updates. My enthusiasm almost died waiting for the watch to update my GPS with the new information.)

Running along Evans Road, I caught Conrad training for his IMR.
All the best, bro!

Took a wrong turn along Chancery Lane. Luckily there was a couple chatting along the side of the road, so I asked them for directions. =p

Took my first gel at 6km. Hmm... that is a bit too early, but my body is already complaining...
I am glad I brought more gels.

With only a bottle left after Bishan, I decided to make a pit stop.
Approaching the mama shop, the shop owner asked "What do you want? Cigarettes?"
Got a Red Bull and off I went again...
Realised I din try out the Jeff Galloway's method...
Hmm... at times it is really hard to walk when you feel strong...
Another school of thought, I learnt...
Start Slow Finish Strong...
Will I be able to do that?

Was just running past Yio Chu Kang, when a young chap overtook me and sprinted ahead.
Wow, one of the very few guys I ever seen running home from work.
I have always seen residents taking a bus ride from the MRT to home and vice versa...
Distance from MRT to home? 400m...

I lost sight of him just before SLE...
Probably he turned off home liao...

Was surprised at the occasional people I came across along Lentor Ave.
It is such a secluded area, where did these guys come from...

Just when I am nearing Yishun, I caught sight of the young chap.
You can see his shoulders sagged when I passed him.
Chatted and walked with him for the rest of the journey home. =D

1 Gu Gel, 1 Salt Pill, 1 Red Bull
