Feel so alien on the bike.
This is probably what happen if you are away from your bike for two whole weeks.
Reached LongHouse with only 5 minutes to spare. =p
Finally got to meet the elusive Evie. =D
Good to see ya, Evie!!!
The group started off at a steady pace.
It is good to draft someone whom you know.
A lot of braking though... I still prefer to ride at the back of the group. =)
After the SLE traffic junction, a bus horned at us...
Was frustrated that the ride leaders decided to ride steady...
I slowed the group down so that the bus can filter into the bus bay.
I hope cyclists know this...
If a bus has the intention to let the cyclists ride past, they will NEVER horn.
If the bus driver horned at the cyclists, he is signalling his intent to filter left, irregardless of how big the peloton is...
Bikes vs Bus... we all know the odds... So why take the risk???
When the bus is through, the second group try to re-group, causing a gap.
Some of us decide to ride steady...
It was even-steven at the Sembawang Road-Gambas Ave traffic junction.
Along Canberra Road, I decided to slow...
There is a chance that the riders are not familiar with this route.
Stopped at Admiralty Road West...
Only managed to guide Evie to turn left.
Both of us have not seen any riders behind us.
Along Admiralty, we heard the all too familiar air horn. =D
Judy, her hubby and another rider has caught up with us.
Gave them a brief introduction of the places as we cycled past. :)
When we rode past Riverside Road, I was tempted to turn left. I decided to keep to the designated route.
Traffic got heavier near Woodlands Center and when I finally blurted out "Straight or turn left?", they realise that we were lost.
When the traffic cleared, I realise that it is a T-junction.
What looks like a straight road, was actually a block of flats blocking the way.
I turned left and rode as confidently as I could.
Took me quite a while to gain back their confidence. =p
When we reached Mandai Road, the group made an unanimous decision to wait at Mandai Shell and skipped the Mandai Loop.
Judy mentioned that the day has been too interesting.
Took a salt pill and a Gu Gel while waiting for the rest to tango.
SE, HP, JY and Jason join us soon after while the fast pack took a while longer to turn up. ;)
Once everyone is accounted for, we were on our way again.
The traffic in Kranji Industrial Estate is horrific...
But once we hit Neo Tiew Road, things were slightly better.
The group sped up along Lim Chu Kang and we re-grouped at SPC Jalan Buroh.
Next stop, Tanjong Pagar Train Station.
I was alone when we hit Mercs Point...
Haiz... The guys seems to have done some serious recharging at SPC...
I regret not taking any salt pills nor Gu Gel...
20km is still a fairly long distance to go without any fuel top-up.
Got stuck at Clementi Road and Dennis turned up behind me!!!
I thot only Jason was behind me...
When I din see Dennis when I rode along Telok Blangah Road, I can only assume that he took the West Coast Highway...
Reached TPTS and the guys were readying themselves for a photo shoot.
I made it just in time!!! Dennis has reached TPTS ahead of me!!! =D
When we reached Maxwell, YP was already having his brekkie.
Turned out, YP woke up too early. Went back to sleep and overslept.
He missed us at Mandai Shell, thus he rode to Maxwell, missing us along the way... =D
Had a hearty brekkie before riding towards LH with Brian.
It started to drizzle along the way. Lights were back on...
Along Marymount Road, it became a torrent...
Water sheets were forming everywhere...
I rode slowly, pressing my bike down hard...
Hydro-planing becomes very real...
Decided to stop at Marymount MRT.
After 20 minutes, the rain does not seems to let up...
Decided to call for pick up...
After 4 years, the pick up call finally got activated. =D
While waiting for pick up, the rain dwindled, stop, drizzled, stop.
Tried to cancel pickup, but it was already on its way.
Thanks, Sis!!!
1 Gu Gel, 2 Clif Bloks, 3 salt pills
