Day 153 : 3rd July 2011 Running

Stars need longer be aligned for me to run anymore.

In fact running is now the most enjoyable and easiest of my three disciplines.

What is so different from this year's runs as compared to previous years is that I no longer feel the need to walk and my heart rate never reach uncontrollable conditions...

My fitness has never improved, my weight has remained constant.
I swim, bike and run less than what I did in 2009.
But everything just feels awesome...

I can only find one explanation... "The Journey"...
I sincerely need to stand at the Start Line and tell myself that I have done everything possible to make the whole experience a lot bearable and be able to finish within the cut-off time.

Have re-iterated to my friends again and again, I need to shave 1 hour off my expected time just to meet the cut-off time. =p

2 hours swim, 8 hours bike, 8 hours run... All very conservative estimates based on my past race timings is 1 hour more than what is required.
Include the two transition stops, I have to shave 2 hours off the entire calculation...

I cannot discount the 2 hour swim... It is probably the best I can do.
6 hours bike mean that I have to ride at 30kmh for 6 hours.
7 hours run means that I have to run 6km every hour.
Only time will tell...

*****

Seeing the packet of nasi lemak, I told wifee that I will need to go out for a run before I can eat it. ;)
Grab a pair of socks, shoes and off I went. =)

I am definitely landing on my mid-foot. (Store assistant insisted I am a heel striker even though we re-iterate to him that I am a mid-footer. And he never even try to get me on the treadmill.)
I am definitely fat... (Colleague who like to state the fact occassionally when we lunch. In fact, my other colleagues were frustrated why I never defend myself. =D )

I have a lot of distractors, but I take everything in my steed.
No point having people put you down, they are not worth my attention.

"Why am I doing this?"
Haha... the question one ask everytime during a marathon.
A question that will never really find a true answer. =)

My distance markers? Speed Queen's house... Half way there. =)
Start of Yishun Park? 2 more km.
End of Yishun Park? Last km.

Although it is a short 7km, it is the route I enjoyed the most. =)

Veered slightly off course today, but I managed to finish strong. *Thumbs up* =)
