After a week of invincibility, it is back to the grind.
Back to work and back to cycling. =)
Both my GPS watches aka my speedometers decided to take a longer break, so I am out with my old faithful Timex for today.
I prescribed myself 3 loops of Old Mandai Road in small cranks and that is exactly what I have done.
Completed 19km in about 55mins.
Lame distance, lame speed but good workout.
Haha, I have always been wondering where the term "Ironman" comes from.
Hehe, maybe one of the pioneer finishers is experiencing what I am feeling now and coined the term.
For a full week, I have been experiencing twitching of muscles at irregular intervals.
It feels like some kind of electrical current passing through the body.
Iron conducts electricity, right? ;)
Jumping back onto the bike today reminds me of those funny moments during IMWA.
1) I tried in vain to un-ratchet my shoe buckle, not once, not twice but thrice during the bike course! Three unsuccessful attempts and I gave up trying.
I am glad that I manage to finally to un-ratchet it during T2.
I am already prepared to ask a T2 volunteer for assistance. =p
2) With meshed openings at the front to ventilate the shoes, my toes went numb a few times due to the horrific headwind blowing through the vents...
3) Somewhere along Tuart Drive, I got pushed a few centimeters to the right by the crosswinds.
If a 100kg cyclist can be pushed sideways by the winds, what happens to those featherweight triathletes?
