Been under the weather for a week.
I am not surprised. I kinda expected it to happen after the sudden increase in training.
Immune systems weaken and I simply could not fight off the heatiness and cough that seems to be affecting my respiratory systems...Badly, I must add...
After a week of rest, I am back to joining FOTR for their fast and furious rides.
Reached Bartley Church 10 minutes late. Sorry, guys.
It is time to start chasing.
Climbing the second slope along Kaki Bukit, I am secretly glad that I have not taken the train.
I just dun think I can keep up with them up the slopes.
While I am going down the slope towards Tampines, I can see the group on the other side of the viaduct.
Probably 1-2km separate us?
After the U-turn, I continue towards Bartley, but experience a very bad cough down the first slope.
I almost lost control of the bike. Scary....
Stopped at the foot of the slope to cough out a healthy amount of phlegm.
Took the time to let my heart rate go down as well.
Saw the faster group on the other side of the viaduct.
Tempted to hop across the viaduct... =D
Just as I am descending the second slope, the peloton just completed the climb...
Haiz... always a slope behind... =D
It is pretty much the same thing for the second loop. =D A slope behind.
Nearing Bartley Church after completing the second loop, I saw Greg at the side of the road.
He lost the rear screw that hold down his saddle and the front screw has rocked free, dis-lodging the saddle.
Sadly, I do not have the allen key with me today.
Either way, I dun think it is a good thing to ride with one less screw.
After a long time, we finally got a cab who is willing to take Greg and his bike.
Took a shortcut and managed to tally-ho with the group along Sengkang East Drive =D
It sure helps to know the territory well. =D
Onto Yio Chu Kang, Upper Thomson and Mandai we went, before we finally re-group at Mandai Shell.
Next stop? Highlight of the ride! Food!!! =D
Had a hearty brekkie with the guys at Casuarina Curry before cycling home. =)
