Day 245 : Cyclist Palsy

This problem has been with me from the day I started cycling.
Initially I thought it was the bike fit.
Then I started wondering if my handlebars is crooked.
I have live with this issue for years.

With Alize, the problem remains...

Was shopping for a pair of gloves for my sister when I chanced upon a claim by Bontrager.
A very bold claim..
"Say hello to comfort and goodbye to numb hands with inForm gloves from Bontrager. Ergonomically designed using university-backed scientific research, inForm gloves like the RL Fusion GelFoam are engineered to reduce pressure over the sensitive ulnar nerve, helping to eliminate hand discomfort, numbness, and fatigue, and allowing you to ride longer and more comfortably"

Unfortunately, Treknology 3, the local distributor for Bontrager dun carry this model.

A search on the internet turned up some surprising results.
I am not alone.
Quite a number of riders suffer from the same problem.

Possible causes
1) Bike Fit
2) Locked Elbows

What is scary is that some of the riders suffered from numb hands for days after the ride.
One extreme case have a rider feeling numb fingers for six months!!! Ouch!

  1. Numbness in the fingers over such prolonged period could be carpal tunnel syndrome. You need to stretch the fingers frequently in between rides and at home.
