It is bound to happen.
I am so zonked that there is no way I can join anyone for any rides today.
There goes my last ride of the year. =D
Things always happen for a reason.
***********
3 days ago, we are chatting about "Completing an Ironman is easier than completing a marathon"
Hehe, we are taking about post-race effects.
I will have to concur on this. =)
I still can remember vividly how crazily sore I felt after SCSM in 2009.
I walked like a duckling to office for an entire week.
After IMWA? Most of us are walking normally except me.
Haha, it is just like pre-race. If there is any pain, no one is showing it.
I swore I could have walk a lot easier if my blisters were popped.
The blisters are at the ball of both feet, thus it is really tough to walk normally on blisters.
Once the blisters are popped, I am up and running normally after a day
Amazingly, the night's sleep after the race, I din feel much ache or sore. =)
My room mates did mentioned that they hear mini moaning sounds the entire night though. =p
************
Hehe... one new thing that I tried during the race which I am too embarrassed to mention till now.
I am not sure if anyone tried it before, but it is really shiok to have ice inside your shorts.
I probably heard it during one of the rides sometime back just did not recall where and when.
I do remember vividly how Rinny will pour ice into her shorts during her Kona races.
Look at 47:35 of the following video and you will get what I mean. =)
The 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship
(The moment I saw that again this year, I start wondering if it really works? =p)
(BTW, the last 15 minutes of the video is always worth watching over and over again.)
When the temperature is as hot as IMWA during the run and with plenty of ice to go around, anything is worth a try. =D
My thoughts? I think it help me to bring down the core temperature to an extent? =p
