Rode out at 7:30am.
With enough sleep, there is no reason to slack.
Out at Punggol Islands, I seem to be the only rider doing loops with the occasional passer-bys.
Even then, the numbers are very low as compared to my last 2 visits.
I spend more time on my aerobars and some time fixing the positions of the aeropads and Speedfil Hydration system.
PI loops are half the distance of CCR, but it has more bends which keep you alert.
I prefer PI as there is no speed strips and it is just a stone throw away from my residence. =)
Having switch off the display of the watch for my past 2 visits, I am not sure why I left it on today.
It causes me quite some anxiety just monitoring my feeble progress.
25km/h will allow me to finish the 180km in 7h 12m 30s.
Totally do-able if one can conquer the distance.
My pace is totally inconsistent.
At times I am churning out in excess of 35kmh, but for the next few kms, the speed will dropped to < 25kmh.
Keeping the speed at 27-28kmh does not guarantee a better result. =(
2 hrs in the swim, 7 hrs on the bike, 20 minutes for both transitions. That will leave me with 7hrs 40mins for the run.
If I can churn out the results I did for Newton 30km, I am going to do it.
I do not have the luxury of a fresh pair of legs as I had for Newton 30km.
If I can churn out the results I did for MegaTri, I might just made it.
But I am cutting it really really close.
1001 uncertainties.
My plan is to ride till the water ran out.
Kinda glad I brought only 3 water bottles. =p
Started to realise that I have not been very disciplined in drinking or eating when I am purely riding.
With traffic lights, I always drink whether I need it or not.
Without traffic lights and no breaks, I consistently have to remind myself to drink and eat.
After 60km, with a water bottle left, my body gave way.
It does not wanna ride anymore.
My mind register one water bottle...
The weak mind relented... There is no reason to torture myself over a training ride even though it is pretty necessary.
Riding back home, under the cover of the trees, I begin to recover...
Only then did I realised that I had spent the past 2 hours under the blazing hot sun.
With some cover during WA, I think I will fare better.
Plus I get the chance to harness the energy from my fellow competitors.
Crossing arms and legs....
