I owe all my training rides from now till year end to my kind donors.
Donations are trickling in, but it is an encouraging sign.
My fifth donor is Chris, a fellow cyclist. :)
Thanks, Chris!

Not every Friday starts the same.
Today is a lot tougher than last week.
The usual Mandai Hills, but a toughie today.
Could not go up the Mandai slope in big cranks. =(
Reached Mandai Shell and din have to wait for long for FOTR to roll in.
Was wondering what happen to No-Longer-Struggling Sean and Mr Look.
Hehe... probably should encouraged them to get the expensive K-Edge Chain Stopper (again) online. =D
I had dropped chain incidents and hate them totally, so I dun mind sacrificing my registration fee for a single race for that little piece of alloy.
Yeah, correct bike tuning should solve the problem, but you will never know when the Chain Stopper would save your day.
It sucks when you are riding at 30kmh, had a dropped chain and lost the peloton.
Spent a tidy sum of money on the compact cranks, chain stopper, saddle during the past year, but I feel that every single cent is worth it...
While waiting for the rest of the group to roll in, someone mentioned that the faster group probably wanna roll off first.
No one budged. =D
We waited for everyone to tango before rolling off. ;)
It was a quiet ride in Neo Tiew Road as everyone focus on keeping up with the leaders. =D
Caught Le Giang dozing off on her bike and shouted out to her to wake her up. =D
My phone started ringing soon after and I was trying to figure out if it is my alarm.
No leh... I set the alarm to go off on weekdays...
Stopped to pick up the call...
Aiyah... Alarm clock!!!
Today is a weekday!!! *Faintz*
Lost the peloton and arrived last at the LCK Re-Org Point. =D
Was surprised to see how huge the group actually was! =D
Hitting the 3 Jalan Buroh mini-flyovers, I lost the group just after the first...
Truly a hard day for me...
If not for the quad guards, I would have faded early in the ride...
Re-org at the Esso station before Clementi.
I was surprised that the group rode off at an extremely easy pace.
No one is pushing the pace at all...
Calm before the storm, it seems.
I was right!
Climbing up the West Coast Flyover, the riders just flew by.
On a slope!!! And I thought I am climbing at a pretty quick pace... =/
Needless to say, I lost the paceline...
Drafted behind the Sungard rider.
When ready, I tried to overtake and was greeted with 3 potholes!
Slowed down immediately and lost my drafter. Bummer...
Sucked BFG wheels for a short moment and lost him too. =(
Re-org at TPTS before we adjourned for brekkie.
After brekkie, it is usually a simple, quiet ride home but my day is not done yet...
Rode with Kenny as he lives near LH.
While rolling off from the LongHouse traffic light, I got side-swiped by a van entering Longhouse.
I dun recall seeing the van indicating that he is turning left...
(It was confirmed by Kenny later that the driver did not signal)
Everything was happening in slow-motion (Read : Bike accident in 2007).
A thousand thoughts flashed by in a split second...
I did not apply the brakes and I guess that was what saved my skin.
I just let the van pushed me along till he finally stopped.
I din fell thus I quickly pedal out of harm's way.
Signalled to everyone that I am okay and instead got the sign to watch where I am going from the driver...
Strangely, I feel no anger...
Probably just happy to be alive...
I could have confronted the driver, but doing a full systems check, I feel nothing is wrong.
Bike is okay, no sore bruises.
Kenny told me that I made a dent on the van and I was thinking "Let's get out of here".
In short, I do not want to blow matters big either way.
While Kenny peeled off at Sin Ming Drive, I carried on to tackle the two slopes on my way home.
