It is not about the quantity of time spend on the bike.
It is the quality that counts. =)
=======
With my 1:43h timing at OCBC Cycle, I made a lot of my friends very happy. =D
As long as they are happy, I am happy. =D

What is an Ironman?
3.8km Swim (Distance from Toa Payoh to Ang Mo Kio is 3.7km)
180km Bike (Singapore to Malacca is 190km)
42.195km Run (Entire Length of the PIE Expressway is 42.8km) (PIE)
=======
Rolling out of the house at 5am plus, I was not sure if I could still catch the train.
At Yishun Ave 2 and near Mandai Lake Road, I am struck with the imbalance thingy again! =(
I have to find out the cause soon... This won't work.
Was dismayed when I did not meet any JoyRiders along Mandai Road.
Am I early or am I too late?
Rolled into Mandai Shell and was glad to see 2 JoyRiders there.
Time Check : 5:38am!
That is impossible! The train is never this late.
Turned out the train has left long ago. =(
Cycling along Woodlands Road, I rode across the gap under the bridge.
I realise why not many cyclists complain about the gap.
A carbon bike cushioned the bump pretty well.
No wonder I did not notice it during the previous few rides.
Riding past the Rail Mall, I realised I was pushing myself really hard.
But I am enjoying myself, I can feel every pedal stroke being transferred into forward motion.
Quality over Quantity...
The ride is becoming more fun.
This is going to be an awesome day. =)
I just keep pushing to see how fast I can go.
Surprisingly, I still have quite a number of gears to work with.
As EN and I noticed in the past, I always ran out of gears very quickly.
My cadence has picked up since I go on compact cranks. =)
I cannot feel the slopes. I just switch gears when my body tells me to do so.
I do not pedal till my thighs start aching...
After 4 years, I still have so much to learn, so much to adjust.
Along Bukit Timah Road, Alize feels like a posh car, you cannot feel the speed cos the bike is so efficient... =)
I have to translate this energy into 4.5 times today's distance.
Can I do this? Seriously?
Reached home in time to send Shannon to school. =)
OCBC Cycle 2011 Part 2 - Chasing the Buddies made me believe in myself.
If I can keep my speed constant on C-One above 30kmh, I can do +2km on Alize.
(My personal gut calculation is that my average Alize ride is C-One +2km.)
Garmin Training Logs has turned out to be a great motivator for me this year.
I am registering better average speeds this year.
I am definitely faster on Alize, no doubt about that, but I think another crucial difference is my Auto Timer Pause settings which I have set to "When Stopped" instead of "Off".
Auto Timer Pause "When Stopped" mimics a cyclometer better, cos it only records when you are moving.
Previously, I set the Auto Timer Pause "Off" to get a "true" picture of the time spent on the bike, but I guess it kinda push me into the doldrums instead. This setting piles on the minutes and bring down my average speed by a huge margin. (4kmh for a 10 mins difference based on today's ride)
When I was cycling past Newton Road, I see my own silhouette on the walls. Wheels on Fire. =)
Yeah, the image looks really nice, just like in the video. =)
Now I need that Fire in the Belly. I need the Strength and the Desire to complete the Journey.
Update : I may have found the cause of the imbalance. My front wheel tire is set in the wrong direction. Guess I need more practice. =D
