Had a ex-colleagues' gathering on Monday.
Strangely, my first observation which turns out to be everyone's else is that everyone of us looks exactly the same, although some of us had left the company 8 years ago!
Such a statement probably won't sound bad unless u know how you look like 5 years ago!
Fitness-wise though, I am probably much better than I was 5 years back. =)
******
Rode out at 7am.
Plan is to do 1 or more Mandai Loops...
Legs felt heavy.
After the initial joy, Alize felt like any other ride.
But it is definitely different from C-One. ;p
The pot hole before Old Mandai Road has finally been patched.
It gets depressing when riders overtake you and you just cannot catch them... :(
Rolling into Mandai Shell, I met Viv (on her new S2) and MagPie.
After a short chat, I decided to follow them for their Neo Tiew Ride.
You really learn to HATE the speed strips.
There are just too many bumps to make a cyclist comfortable.
Every now and then, I will hear Viv free-spinning behind me...
Wah, double depressing...
I cannot afford to slow down my pace. =(
When we finally reached Lim Chu Kang Road, I finally relaxed and Viv zoomed ahead.
Within a minute, ANZA rode past and swallowed Viv up.
The view is spectacular.
The real bummer came when MagPie rode past and sped ahead and disappear into the distance.
I am officially the weakest rider of the Kranji Gangsters now. =(
Now I truly fear for my Desaru, Aviva IM 70.3 Singapore and IMWA.
How am I going to ride with such fitness base.
I foresee Desaru being another Tour de Bintan...
Haiz, should I drop out or just go...
We re-grouped at the end of Lim Chu Kang.
While chatting, Viv commented "What happen back there? You used to fly off at Lim Chu Kang Road!"
The key word "used to"...
That is how bad I fare right now...
20km and I am bushed... how to think about 134km Ride or 90km Ride + 21km Run.
Viv had a fun time though, speeding at 38kmh with ANZA. =)
As Viv and MagPie proceed towards Keppel, I travel towards Keat Hong coffeeshop for brekkie before proceeding home.
